Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil - Liquid

Provides natural nutrition you won't find in any other cod liver oil

Most commercial cod liver oils are a far cry from the natural nutrition found in this true superfood. In contrast, Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil (EVCLO) bucks the industrial process and offers you good, wholesome nutrition at its raw finest* . . .

"(My)... analysis confirmed that the extra-virgin cod liver oil from Rosita Natural Foods contained all of nature's healing fatty acids (EPA and DHA) along with a host of naturally occurring micronutrients such as vitamin A and D. Even better, no environmental contaminants or synthetic counterfeits were discovered . . . This is the only company on earth that I know of, that's not butchering or adulterating their cod liver oil for the sake of profits or convenience. And it's the company I trust to preserve and promote health in my family."

Frequently asked questions

Rosita EVCLO is most unique in its production. 99% of all cod liver oil production is created using processes that severely damage the vitamins inherent in the oil, such as freezing, winterization, degumming, bleaching, and deodorizing. Because the fragile nutrients in the oil are destroyed during this time, most of the producers will then fortify it with synthetic vitamins and market the oil as natural.

Rosita is able to produce an oil without these harsh processes. Using an old Viking technique for extracting the liver oil without the use of heat, pressure or chemicals, Rosita is able to capture the nutrients in their raw and unadulterated state. Rosita itself is a company of integrity and they monitor the entire production process, from catching the fish to bottling the oil. They use only small, private fishing fleets and catch the cod by line to encourage sustainability of the fish and reduce by-catch. Only the species Gadus Morhua is used, which by many historical records is the most healing of all the cod. It is only caught in the pristine and clean fjords of Norway and is never frozen (in fact, the fish is used immediately and the oil is produced within 48 hours of catching the cod). The oil is produced in a facility specifically dedicated to creating fish oils so there is no worry of cross contamination. This entire process was well thought out; 2 years of research went into creating the perfect antioxidant package alone, and a packaging method that would ensure the oil stays fresh even as it travels from Norway to other parts of the world.

So while there are a multitude of cod liver oils on the market to choose from, there is only one cod liver oil that is made fresh and raw from wild- caught Atlantic cod. Rosita EVCLO is in its own special category. Discerning customers who understand the significance of a fresh cod liver oil on their health are passionate about EVCLO.

Rosita cod liver oil has been tested for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) including pesticides (such as DDT), industrial chemicals (such as polychlorinated biphenyls, PCBs) and unintentional by-products of industrial processes (such as dioxins and furans). They have also been tested for heavy metals and microbiological contamination. Rosita extra-virgin cod liver oil consistently meets or exceeds the safety standards set by the stringent European Commission and WHO rules on environmental pollutants. All of the testing results are posted on our website:

In terms of purity, Rosita is superior in another way as well. Most brands of fish oil – including many cod liver oils – are "purified" using a chemical extraction process at very high temperatures. A good portion of the omegas and naturally occurring antioxidants are destroyed or stripped out, so manufacturers add specific essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants back into the oil. Unfortunately, most of the time they use synthetic vitamins and include artificial ratios of things like DHA and EPA. Though they may seem natural, they're really not. Extra virgin cod liver oil contains only naturally occurring vitamins and fatty acids. Other than the addition of one drop of naturally derived vitamin E and rosemary oil per bottle to maintain freshness, Rosita's oil is not altered in any way.

The Vitamin E is organic, Kosher and sourced from non-GMO seeds. It is full spectrum vitamin E (not isolated Vitamin E) that contains all naturally occurring tocopherols: alpha, beta, gamma, delta. The Vitamin E is obtained via low temperature vacuum distillation without the use of toxic solvents.

It is free of all common allergens:

  • Gluten-free
  • GMO-free
  • Soy-free
  • Peanut-free
  • Tree-nut free
  • Corn-free
  • Wheat-free

A tiny drop of natural vitamin E and Rosemary herb are added to each bottle of Rosita EVCLO as an antioxidant to help maintain freshness. Each bottle is then nitrogen flushed and capped with no oxygen, allowing Rosita to ship without cold packs.

If you are worried about the Vitamin E source, you may be interested in trying the Rosita Ratfish Liver Oil. It is similar to the EVCLO in that it provides a full spectrum of fatty acids and nutrients. However, the ratfish actually produces and stores its own vitamin E, which then acts as a natural antioxidant in the oil. Only drops are needed at a time of this oil and it has a very light and palatable taste.

Works the best of any cod liver oils ever

I absolutely hate fish and any type of seafood and/or seaweed product. I actually have never preferred oily foods and that includes limited butter, olive oil, etc. Anyway, after being tested and finding out I had a Vit. D mutation (finally the answer to why I always had the deficiency and bone problems of different sorts), I tried Vit. D3 products (of varying amounts) and they all bothered my heart and sleep. Plus, I tried many different types of cod liver oils only to find out they would take out some of the vitamins and add back synthetic ones in! (This was verified by email from the popular company owners.) Finally, after doing a lot of research, I tried Rosita and it has finally taken away my chapped lips and no more dry cuticles. I only have to take a little bit too! And I take it every 2-3 days since it's fat-soluble and it still works well enough for me. I also take it with their Walkabout Emu oil (which tastes like absolutely nothing). No after-burps either and I make sure I take it with a little bit of thick juice to wash it down and then at least two bites of food. Well worth the money.

Hi Katie, Thank you so much for sharing your experience. How wonderful that you've come to find Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil - and that it's supporting you in the way your body desires with its naturally occurring vitamins and omega fatty acids. Good on you for doing the research and being your own best advocate until you found the answers (and the differences between Rosita and other cod liver oils on the market today)! Sounds like the way you take it, with Emu Oil (to get that vitamin K2 cofactor), juice and a couple bites of food is just right. We are so happy to serve you - and we're here should you have any questions along the way. Wishing you the best, Katie! Most sincerely, The Corganic Team

Great Product, But...

From everything I’ve read, Rosita appears to be the best cod liver oil on the market. However, while I’m okay with the naturally fishy flavor, I find that I need to cut the oil with another (brand of) lemon-flavored cod liver oil to make it more palatable for my daughter. A Rosita lemon option might be desirable.

Hi Shimon, Thanks for sharing your experience. We're so happy to hear that you're enjoying your Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil! We understand that the taste may seem robust at first - it does taste like fresh, wild caught fish! Many of our customers will take the bottle out of the fridge and let it rest on the counter for a couple of minutes - and then shake it before taking their dose. This helps distribute the wonderful fatty acids and evens out the taste. People also like to chase it with an orange slice. Trying that might be a better option than mixing with a different cod liver oil - as then you only get the naturally occurring nutrients that Rosita offers. We appreciate your suggestion for the new flavor. The folks at Rosita will likely stick to the oil only - with a hint of rosemary for freshness... so that your oil is pure, unadulterated and the freshest in the world. Thanks again and hope this helps. Warmly, The Corganic Team

Excellent Product - Very Expensive

We purchased this product because as far as I can tell it is the best cod liver oil product commercially available. The only drawback is the cost. At the typical dosage of one teaspoon per day, it costs around $1.65 per serving! (per person) I am purchasing it now because we need the quality, but it’s hard to justify for three individuals $150.00 a month (in my home).

Hi Ranson, Thanks so much for sharing your experience and your thoughts. We appreciate your kind words about the quality of Rosita. As to the cost, we understand it's higher. Hope this background helps... Rosita Cod Liver Oil is the only fresh, wild caught and raw cod liver oil in the entire world. And in order to produce such a precious oil, it truly takes a Herculean effort to ensure quality and integrity. The Atlantic cod is caught hook and line in the clean Norwegian fjords by a small family company in Norway. They handcraft the oil using a rare process that’s completely void of heat and use of mechanics, and so your oil retains all of its invaluable, naturally occurring nutrients. Additionally, since this cod liver oil is a fresh and raw product with a limited shelf life, Rosita only produces small batches. All of this means it's more expensive. Please keep in mind, other commercial cod liver oil producers can leave their oil in massive vats for up to a year - and can mask quality issues with industrial processing methods. The good news is, because the vitamins in Rosita are fat-soluble and naturally occurring, a little goes a long way. And unless you're on a certain protocol that calls for a full teaspoon dose, you likely don't need as much. Feel free to reach out to our customer service department at or 1-800-524-8802. You can ask for Karen, one of our Co-Owners. Karen can speak with you about dosing and how to make the most out of your fresh, wild and raw Rosita Cod Liver Oil : ) Hope this information helps. We truly appreciate your support and we want to make sure you're satisfied with your experience. Warmly, The Corganic Team

The Best

I’ve tried lots of fish oils and even cod liver oils and none stack up like Rosita. This company is transparent in their extraction methods and I’m ecstatic knowing the A and D are not synthetically added. I’ve seen comfort in my joints and overall mood improvement. Corganic was excellent in terms of pricing and turn around for delivery time. Will definitely purchase again.

Hi Matt, Thanks so much for your kind words and support. We're thrilled to hear that you appreciate the naturally occurring nutrients in your Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil and especially that you realize nothing synthetic is added thanks to the gentle way it's created (without the use of heat or mechanics). We're happy to share info as to Rosita's extraction methods, and anything else you need to give you peace of mind that what you're putting into your body is truly fresh, wild caught and raw cod liver oil goodness : ) We're also glad to hear you're seeing benefits in your joints and your mood since starting on Rosita. It must feel good after trying many others. And so wonderful that you're shipping and pricing experience were positive as well. We're honored to serve enthusiastic customers like you, who just get it. Thank you again for your support - and take care : ) Warmly, The Corganic Team
