Please note that in high temperatures (such as 78°F and over), Rosita softgels may clump together. This does not harm the product; just let the bottle cool on the counter and then gently shake.

Storage/Dosage

Storage:

To maintain the Rosita softgels in the best possible state for the longest time, keep your softgels in dark storage at room temperature - ideally ranging from 58°F to 78°F (15°C to 25°C). 

Short temperature excursions either way have a minor impact. Cold temperatures over prolonged periods of time can increase permeability of the gel and so they should not be refrigerated or frozen.

The shelf life of Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil softgels is two years from the production date.

Dosage:

  • Adults: 3 softgels daily or as needed, with food. (90 capsule bottle will last 30 days)
  • Children and sensitive individuals: Begin by taking 1 softgel daily with food, and increase if needed. The softgels may be punctured with a pin and the oil expressed into mouths of young children. Best taken with food.
  • Infants (4 months and older, as approved by doctor): 1 to 3 drops daily as needed. The softgels may be punctured with a pin and the oil expressed into the mouth of an infant. Best taken with food.
  • Pregnant and nursing mothers: Do not exceed more than 3 softgels daily. Take as needed. Best taken with food.
  • Rosita is premium, pure and potent. Therefore, it’s critically important to start slowly, with a low dosage. For example, 1 softgel (or less) every other day - until you can determine how the oil affects your body and what dose feels right for you.

Frequently asked questions

Rosita Extra-Virgin Cod Liver Oil is exactly the same regardless of the form you choose to purchase. Both the softgels and liquid have a full spectrum of omegas and fatty acids, high levels of vitamins A and D in the their natural, unadulterated form, and are raw and fresh. 

In terms of the milligrams per bottle, the liquid is much more economical. At roughly 1/2 a teaspoon a day, the liquid will last you two months where the softgels will last you a little under one month. 

The Extra-Virgin Cod Liver Oil must be kept refrigerated because once the bottle is opened, the oil is exposed to oxygen and has the potential to oxidize. The small amount of rosemary and Vitamin E. that is added to the oil, as well as keeping it refrigerated, help to slow down this process. On the other hand, exposure to oxygen is not a concern with Rosita Extra-Virgin Cod Liver Oil softgels because the oil is kept encased in the capsule. In fact, long term refrigeration of the softgels will actually increase permeability and so is not recommended.

Rosita EVCLO is most unique in its production. 99% of all cod liver oil production is created using processes that severely damage the vitamins inherent in the oil, such as freezing, winterization, degumming, bleaching, and deodorizing. Because the fragile nutrients in the oil are destroyed during this time, most of the producers will then fortify it with synthetic vitamins and market the oil as natural.

Rosita is able to produce an oil without these harsh processes. Using an old Viking technique for extracting the liver oil without the use of heat, pressure or chemicals, Rosita is able to capture the nutrients in their raw and unadulterated state. Rosita itself is a company of integrity and they monitor the entire production process, from catching the fish to bottling the oil. They use only small, private fishing fleets and catch the cod by line to encourage sustainability of the fish and reduce by-catch. Only the species Gadus Morhua is used, which by many historical records is the most healing of all the cod. It is only caught in the pristine and clean fjords of Norway and is never frozen (in fact, the fish is used immediately and the oil is produced within 48 hours of catching the cod). The oil is produced in a facility specifically dedicated to creating fish oils so there is no worry of cross contamination. This entire process was well thought out; 2 years of research went into creating the perfect antioxidant package alone, and a packaging method that would ensure the oil stays fresh even as it travels from Norway to other parts of the world.

So while there are a multitude of cod liver oils on the market to choose from, there is only one cod liver oil that is made fresh and raw from wild- caught Atlantic cod. I follow Dr. Eric Berg on YouTube, and in one of his videos, he recommended cod liver oil because of the health benefits for skin, especially for acne. My teenage kids (3) have been taking them regularly ever since and they seem to help with breakouts. I like the fact this this brand comes from wild caught fish.

Love the purity of your products

I am very sensitive to many products due to an AI deficiency. This oil is agreeing with me. I love the purity of this product. I am only taking 2 x day but will increase and will be ordering my 2nd bottle soon. My only negative is it's a bit expensive especially with the shipping cost. Love all of you at Corganic.
