Why consider Cow Colostrum?
Cow (bovine) colostrum is used to support:
- The immune system,
- The nervous system,
- The colon,
- Wound recovery,
- Mental health,
- And to help ward off bacteria and fungus.
Some athletes use cow colostrum to boost athletic performance, stamina and muscle tone.
Raw cow colostrum is also part of the Root Cause Protocol (RCP) by Morley Robbins, as it contains lactoferrin, which has iron-binding properties. The RCP seeks to address "the root cause" of all health issues by rebalancing magnesium, copper and iron in the body.
Humanely sourced Cow Colostrum
Colostrum is designed by nature to protect newborn mammals and babies at the beginning of their lives, and to provide a strong foundation of immunity and nourishment.
That’s why it’s so important to ensure you’re taking cow colostrum that’s humanely collected in a way that provides more than enough for the newborn cows, and that respects and preserves the well being of the heifer.
Collecting colostrum from a calf is only possible with animals that have been cultivated for centuries, as specific breeding increases their colostrum and milk yield. Thus, the cows of QuraDea’s Swiss suppliers can “donate” an average quantity of approximately 5 litres of colostrum within the first 12 hours after the birth of the calf. Please note this is after the calves have had their share.
QuraDea collects the colostrum from approximately 100 different organic farms. This prevents the cows from being over taxed and perpetually pregnant. And about 20% of these farmers have a Demeter Certification, a biodynamic farming method of the highest organic standard in Europe.
For these reasons, organic cow colostrum is rare and available only in limited quantities.
How QuraDea Cow Colostrum is created
Freeze drying the fresh colostrum (after the calves have had their fill) makes the nutritional composition of QuraDea superior and unique, as the immune factors and bioactive substances are preserved.
Many commercial cow colostrums on the market that come in liquid form will reduce the colostrum to its content of IgG (antibodies type G) alone. But because there are many important bioactive ingredients, QuraDea doesn’t take the raw colostrum apart to get rid of the fat and casein fractions. These fractions are just as important. For instance, the fat carries many fat-soluble hormones and vitamins, which are lost during the “spray drying” production of a liquid colostrum serum.
