Seagreens can be mixed into smoothies, fresh squeezed juice or taken with food. Not recommended for infants/children unless otherwise specified by a nutritionist or healthcare practitioner.

Important: The supplements we carry are premium, pure and potent. Therefore, it’s critically important to start slowly, with a lower dosage than recommended. For example, a very small dose every other day, or even once a week, until you can determine how the supplement affects your body and what dose feels right for you.

Frequently asked questions

The Plus is that Seagreens naturally contains all the other minerals and micronutrients needed for the proper transport and metabolism of iodine including selenium, tyrosine, zinc, copper, vitamins A, B2, B3, B6 and C.

Recent research by Glasgow University compared Seagreens Ascophyllum to a commonly used artificial source of iodine - potassium iodide. The study found that although both forms are highly bioavailable, the potassium iodide peaks and is quickly excreted from the body, whereas the Seagreens iodine is more gradually absorbed and remains present for longer.

We comply with international organic food regulations on pesticides, herbicides and contaminants and specifically monitor organotins, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), organophosphates, aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins and aflatoxins.

We have conducted the largest independent analytical studies ever made on the species we harvest, and we monitor key nutrients in every harvested batch of Seagreens® which tells us if they meet our unique quality standards.

We conduct major analytical studies every five years in compliance with the requirements of the international Nutritious Food Seaweed Standard.

Believe it or not, the Organic Regulations cover only water quality and sustainability, allowing dead or decomposing seaweed and contaminants, and seaweed dried at nutrient-destroying temperatures to enter the food chain.

This is why over the past two decades, not only did we develop our own proprietary standards incorporating biodynamic and organic regulations, allergen and contaminant analysis, the principles of raw and vegan food production, and envionmental protection and sustainability.

In recent years we worked with the Biodynamic Association, seaweed and food producers, and other organisations on this new international quality assurance scheme and standard specifically for seaweed.

Today, Seagreens® is a branded ingredient in some of the world's leading food and health products - and we are actively helping a new industry develop across the Brtish Isles and the Nordic region.
