Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil - Liquid

Provides natural nutrition you won't find in any other cod liver oil

Most commercial cod liver oils are a far cry from the natural nutrition found in this true superfood. In contrast, Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil bucks the industrial process and offers you good, wholesome nutrition at its raw finest* . . .

"(My)... analysis confirmed that the extra-virgin cod liver oil from Rosita Natural Foods contained all of nature's healing fatty acids (EPA and DHA) along with a host of naturally occurring micronutrients such as vitamin A and D. Even better, no environmental contaminants or synthetic counterfeits were discovered . . . This is the only company on earth that I know of, that's not butchering or adulterating their cod liver oil for the sake of profits or convenience. And it's the company I trust to preserve and promote health in my family."

"As soon as the EVCLO product became available, I ordered some. I noticed right away that it smelled, looked, and tasted fresh. This, together with Rosita's transparency and third-party testing, was enough to convince me to switch over to EVCLO and begin recommending it to my tribe."

"I'm thrilled to lend my support to Rosita. It's a wonderful product. It has a clean, light taste, NO aftertaste, and it is produced with transparency, by good people, in a matter I can truly support.

  • It’s fresh because it is bottled within 48 hours of the fish being caught in remote (read: clean) waters of Norway.
  • It’s wild. Rosita does their own fishing (know your fisherman!)
  • It’s raw because no heat, chemicals or mechanical processing is used to obtain the oil.

Here are the personal benefits I attribute to taking EVCLO:

  • My immune system stayed strong throughout the winter.
  • My keratosis pilaris didn’t return. It often flares in the winter, and it didn’t this year.
  • I had no issue taking EVCLO during pregnancy. The other brand is – well – pungent, and could be difficult for anyone with food aversions to take. There’s hardly any fishy flavor, and none of the odiferousness of the other “fermented” brand.”

Frequently asked questions

Rosita EVCLO is most unique in its production. 99% of all cod liver oil production is created using processes that severely damage the vitamins inherent in the oil, such as freezing, winterization, degumming, bleaching, and deodorizing. Because the fragile nutrients in the oil are destroyed during this time, most of the producers will then fortify it with synthetic vitamins and market the oil as natural.

Rosita is able to produce an oil without these harsh processes. Using an old Viking technique for extracting the liver oil without the use of heat, pressure or chemicals, Rosita is able to capture the nutrients in their raw and unadulterated state. Rosita itself is a company of integrity and they monitor the entire production process, from catching the fish to bottling the oil. They use only small, private fishing fleets and catch the cod by line to encourage sustainability of the fish and reduce by-catch. Only the species Gadus Morhua is used, which by many historical records is the most healing of all the cod. It is only caught in the pristine and clean fjords of Norway and is never frozen (in fact, the fish is used immediately and the oil is produced within 48 hours of catching the cod). The oil is produced in a facility specifically dedicated to creating fish oils so there is no worry of cross contamination. This entire process was well thought out; 2 years of research went into creating the perfect antioxidant package alone, and a packaging method that would ensure the oil stays fresh even as it travels from Norway to other parts of the world.

So while there are a multitude of cod liver oils on the market to choose from, there is only one cod liver oil that is made fresh and raw from wild- caught Atlantic cod. Rosita EVCLO is in its own special category. Discerning customers who understand the significance of a fresh cod liver oil on their health are passionate about EVCLO.

Rosita cod liver oil has been tested for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) including pesticides (such as DDT), industrial chemicals (such as polychlorinated biphenyls, PCBs) and unintentional by-products of industrial processes (such as dioxins and furans). They have also been tested for heavy metals and microbiological contamination. Rosita extra-virgin cod liver oil consistently meets or exceeds the safety standards set by the stringent European Commission and WHO rules on environmental pollutants. All of the testing results are posted on our website: http://evclo.com/testing/

In terms of purity, Rosita is superior in another way as well. Most brands of fish oil – including many cod liver oils – are "purified" using a chemical extraction process at very high temperatures. A good portion of the omegas and naturally occurring antioxidants are destroyed or stripped out, so manufacturers add specific essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants back into the oil. Unfortunately, most of the time they use synthetic vitamins and include artificial ratios of things like DHA and EPA. Though they may seem natural, they're really not. Extra virgin cod liver oil contains only naturally occurring vitamins and fatty acids. Other than the addition of one drop of naturally derived vitamin E and rosemary oil per bottle to maintain freshness, Rosita's oil is not altered in any way.

The Vitamin E is organic, Kosher and sourced from non-GMO seeds. It is full spectrum vitamin E (not isolated Vitamin E) that contains all naturally occurring tocopherols: alpha, beta, gamma, delta. The Vitamin E is obtained via low temperature vacuum distillation without the use of toxic solvents.

It is free of all common allergens:

  • Gluten-free
  • GMO-free
  • Soy-free
  • Peanut-free
  • Tree-nut free
  • Corn-free
  • Wheat-free

A tiny drop of natural vitamin E and Rosemary herb are added to each bottle of Rosita EVCLO as an antioxidant to help maintain freshness. Each bottle is then nitrogen flushed and capped with no oxygen, allowing Rosita to ship without cold packs.

If you are worried about the Vitamin E source, you may be interested in trying the Rosita Ratfish Liver Oil. It is similar to the EVCLO in that it provides a full spectrum of fatty acids and nutrients. However, the ratfish actually produces and stores its own vitamin E, which then acts as a natural antioxidant in the oil. Only drops are needed at a time of this oil and it has a very light and palatable taste.

Quality Fish Oil

This is a high quality cod liver oil. While I like the idea of getting the omega 3s and vitamins A & D from an all natural source, the taste is just too strong and fishy for me. I also experienced fish burps everytime I used it. I kept it refrigerated and always took it with a full meal but still experienced the fish burps. Not sure if I will purchase again but if I do I would try the capsules only.

Hello Tracy, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Rosita. We're glad to hear that you appreciate its fresh, wild-caught and raw quality, and all of its naturally occurring vitamins and omegas. As to the taste, we understand :) Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil is fresh, wild caught and raw - from the clean waters of the North Atlantic. Given all of these unique factors, it indeed tastes like fresh fish :) Nothing is done to alter the taste or smell of the oil. No flavorings are added. Many people enjoy the taste, while others may find it very fishy. Please keep in mind, there’s nothing like it on the market, so Rosita’s inherent taste is unlike the cod liver oils you can pick up at the grocery store. An industrially processed cod liver oil that tastes like lemon or is bland is likely is devoid of its proper nutrients. Here, you can be assured that the unprocessed, synthetic-free cod liver oil you get from Rosita is as fresh as the day it was bottled. As a side note, here are a few tips on “prepping” your fresh Rosita for the most optimal taste: * Your bottle has to be refrigerated. * Before taking your preferred dose, take it out of the fridge set it on the counter for two minutes. * Then shake! This allows your oil to be properly distributed (it’s a full spectrum oil, so shaking it makes for a consistent taste). * Some people like to enjoy a slice of orange afterward for a refreshing chaser. If you’re really sensitive to the taste of fresh fish, we also offer Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil softgels (like you mentioned), which have very little to no taste at all. Thanks for giving Rosita a try, Tracey. We wish you the best! Warm regards, The Corganic Team

great oil

It's a great oil, but very cost prohibitive. Specifically, the cost of shipping, and the minimum to avoid the shipping cost is too high. So, I get this rarely. :(

Hello Irina, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and for your five stars! We're really happy to hear that you're finding your Rosita to be great. As to the price point, here's a little information to help put it into perspective: Rosita Cod Liver Oil is the only fresh, wild caught and raw cod liver oil in the entire world. And in order to produce such a precious oil, it truly takes a Herculean effort to ensure quality and integrity. The Atlantic cod is caught hook and line in the clean Norwegian fjords by a small family company in Norway. They handcraft the oil using a rare process that’s completely void of heat and use of mechanics, and so your oil retains all of its invaluable, naturally occurring nutrients. Additionally, since this cod liver oil is a fresh and raw product with a limited shelf life, Rosita only produces small batches. All of this means it's more expensive. Please keep in mind, other commercial cod liver oil producers can leave their oil in massive vats for up to a year - and can mask quality issues with industrial processing methods. The good news is, because Rosita is so potent and a fat-soluble oil, you don't need much so you can stretch out your bottle. And in response to your shipping feedback, we understand. Please know we are revisiting our shipping policy and we will give you an update as soon as we are able. We wish you the very best on your healthy journey, Irina. And we look forward to being in touch soon. Warm regards, The Corganic team :)
