Yeastbiotic™ is SCD Compliant.
Yeastbiotic™ contains Saccharomyces boulardii, a non-pathogenic, transient yeast long-used for diarrhea or dysentery. It is a hardy, acid-resistant, temperature tolerant microorganism that is not affected byanti-bacterial agents. Broad antimicrobial activities against C. dificile, toxigenic E. coli, Candida, and other gastrointestinal pathogens. Augments colon bifidobacteria populations and increases butyrate concentrations. Enhances brush border enzyme activities and improves gut barrier function.
Yeastbiotic™ is naturally resistant to all antibacterial antibiotics and can be taken along with antibacterial antibiotics without adversely affecting its potency and efficacy.
S. boulardii is genetically and functionally distinct from brewer’s yeast (S. cerevisiae) and different from pathogenic Candida species. S. boulardiiincreases the activities of intestinal brush border enzymes such as disaccharidases, a-glucosidases, alkaline phosphatases, and aminopeptidases. It secretes a leucine aminopeptidase that appears to support against allergies to dietary proteins following acute gastroenteritis. S. boulardii augments the intestinal absorption of D-glucose coupled with sodium that may enhance uptake of water and electrolytes during diarrhea. It increases stool concentrations of short-chain fatty acids that nourish colon mucosal cells. Oral intake of S. boulardii increases colonic populations of healthful bifidobacteria and reduces numbers of pathogenic clostridia. It modulates immunity by boosting intestinal secretion of IgA and increasing crypt cell immuno-globulin receptors. It inhibits inflammatory cytokine pathways and secretes a factor that blocks C. difficiletoxin A activities. Research has found that S. boulardii supports healthy intestinal function in an array of clinical settings including antibiotic-associated diarrhea, C. difficile disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and traveler’s diarrhea.
Yeastbiotic’s S. boulardii is American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) certified and freeze-dried to maintain maximum potency and viability. Many manufacturers substitute brewer’s or baker’s yeast and use lactose in production. Yeastbiotic™ contains only lactose-free, gluten-free material. This hypoallergenic formula is available in vegetarian capsules containing 150 mg (3+ billion CFUs).

Organic 3 probiotics are freeze-dried, so they hold up well to warm temperatures. However, when the temperature exceeds 95°F, the potency may start to slowly decline incrementally. If it is above 95°F in your area at the time of ordering, we recommend shipping the probiotic with our optional Dry Ice Shipper. This will provide significant protection from excessive heat. Please note: We cannot ship dry ice to a P.O. box.
We also offer a Cold Pack Shipper, which adds one or more ice packs (depending on the size of the order) and insulated packaging. These ice packs are not designed to stay cold the entire shipment process, but do provide adequate protection against potency loss. If the temperature is above 70°F, the ice packs may arrive warm, or even hot. This is normal and expected, but does not reduce the potency.
